14 GREAT OUTDOOR DATE’S – #6, #7 & #8
It is Valentines Day this month, and “Love is in the Air” at local nature preserves! Disconnecting from our world for a minute, and spending time with that special someone in a gorgeous natural setting can create some magic moments – this is a fact!
For Valentines Day month I thought a list of “14” outdoor date opportunities would be fun to provide. Not only to spend with your Valentine, but friends you love as well!
So in no particular order, here is #6, #7 & #8
From the website – “Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Miami at the 13th annual “Moonlight & Music” Valentine’s Day Concert on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 8:00 p.m. (The main gate opens at 7:00 p.m.) This year’s concert will feature Sarah Packiam and Scott Kirby. Guests are welcome to bring blankets, lawn chairs and picnic baskets. Limited refreshments and food will be available for an additional fee. Crepemaker and GastroPod Food Truck will be at the event. If you would like to get a picnic basket please contact Joanna’s Marketplace at 305-661-5777.
Tickets are $20 for general admission. Tickets can be purchased online for an additional fee or by calling the Deering Estate Ticket Office at 305-235-1668 ext. 233. Tickets are non-refundable, rain or shine.
One of the features in this park/conservation center by the ocean, is a ¼ mile boardwalk through a hardwood hammock. They also have a 40 ft observation tower you may climb up, and shout your love from one of the highest “peaks” on the coast. I bet it can get pretty romantic up there too. Share “the view of the Hammock, the Intracoastal Waterway, and the Atlantic Ocean” and share your heart with the one you love.
If you have never kayaked, then it is time to try it. Seeing your town from the water is fun, but in a kayak it is an adventure! And what can be more romantic than adventure?
A two person kayak tour is under $50, but the memory it will create is priceless.
